Pittsburgh Platform

The Members Portal serves two purposes:

  1. A forum for international conversations focused on environmental health equity

  2. A site where individuals can gather together to develop heath equity and grant opportunities where environmental health equity is an over arching theme.

Housing Solutions and Health Safety

The impact of housing on health is now being widely considered by policy makers. Housing is one of the best-researched social determinants of health, and selected housing interventions for low-income people have been found to improve health outcomes and decrease health care costs. As a result, many health care systems, payers, and government entities are seeking to better understand the totality of the health and housing literature to determine where they might intervene effectively. Pittsburgh Platform outlines the literature with action and provides high-level direction for future research and policy agendas.

Oil Fire Safety Prevention

Pittsburgh Platform focuses in on your SITE. Every situation and/or condition is different. It is far less expensive to prevent an oil spill than it is to clean one up. No spill is acceptable — once oil is released into the environment, harmful consequences have already occurred. All oil spills are toxic and pose a significant risk to the World’s environment, economy, public health, and historical and cultural resources.

We work with regulated communities and others to minimize the environmental threat of oil spills from vessels, railroads, pipelines, and oil handling facilities by focusing on human procedural and organizational factors. In delivering these services, we play a key role in helping a company minimize the long-term release of toxics into the environment and help to protect the waters, soil, air, and public health of the World.

Precaution is better than cure.
